I reccomend book by Svetlana Alexievich- The Unwomanly Face of War, it shows the war from soviet women's perspective My grandmother who fought as a sniper with partisans throughout the war in Belarus and Ukraine would often tell me about her experiences She would talk about how many of her female colleagues would carry improvised suicide devices, or cyanide capsule but those were extremely rare. Around 200K Red Army Female Soldiers. 50K Nurses probably, and 50k truck drivers, anti aircraft battery operators and so on. Around 7 Million women totally died, which includes 1 Million caught in an urban battle for example. 3 Million Genocided and 4 million starved or worked to death. Red Army female soldiers did not have a life to envy. The Germans called them "rifle broads". I believe there was actually a German Directive to kill female soldiers outright, similar to the "commando order". Their fellow Russian male soldiers called them "field mattresses". The Wehrmacht actually had direct orders to kill any female soldiers they came after as they saw such a thing as unimaginable and degenerate. Given she obviously has not been shot yet, she would likely have been sent to Ravensbruck concentration camp, where she likely died of starvation.  Female Soviet soldiers are one of the greatest examples of the myth of the "clean Wehrmacht" being tarnished. Several Wehrmacht generals were so insulted by fighting women that they ordered them to be executed immediately, including Güyher von Kluge and Walther von Reichenau. Because the Germans didn't have separate POW camps for women, if they weren't executed they were mostly handed over to the SS and sent to Ravensbruck concentration camp. She was very likely raped and murdered as that was what the Wehrmacht tended to do on the eastern front And minutes after this picture, she was probably marched off to be shot or hung.
