Lottie Rae, 32, took up the unusual role to make some extra money in 2017, and charges £50 an hour - estimating she's made a few thousand pounds over the years. The British cleaner says in the six years she's been working as a naked cleaner she's had a range of clients - including some who just want company, naturists, and others who 'hope for something more'. Today in 1899 Winston Churchill was captured by the Boers while covering the war as a reporter for the Morning Post. He escaped a few weeks later. Aroadside plaque near Estcourt in KwaZulu-Natal commemorates the capture of Winston Churchill by the Boers on 15th November 1899 when an armoured train was ambushed. General Redvers Buller described the incident as “inconceivable stupidity” when criticising the commander of the British garrison in Estcourt, Colonel Charles Long, whose men were supposed to be guarding a bridge over the Tugela River at Colenso. Instead, Long took his troops back to the safety of Estcourt and then put them on the armoured train to patrol the railway line every day. It was unaccompanied by mounted troops and its mobility was limited by the rail tracks, so it was at the complete mercy of Boer field guns. General Louis Botha, who was reconnoitering past Ladysmith with a small force of commandos, must have rubbed his eyes in disbelief when he saw the train steaming...

Following the Russian October Revolution in November 1917, the Socialist Bolsheviks had taken control of the country and immediately sought peace terms with the Central Powers, to end the war that the old Russian tsarist regime had entered. . The Central Powers, especially the Germans, were also very keen on ending the war on the Eastern Front, which would free millions of troops for deployment to the Western Front, and potentially gain the Germans access to Ukrainian wheat fields. . The soldier who went on a one man rampage, 1968 Roy P Benavidez was born in Texas in 1935. His father was Mexican and his mother was Yaqui native Mexican. They both died of tuberculosis when Benavidez was young. He was bullied for his Mexican accent and heritage in school and worked hard labour to support his family, but dreamed of joining the US Army. At the age of 15, he dropped out of school to work on a farm. However, as soon as he was ready, Roy enlisted in the US armed forces. He also got married around this time and had 3 children. In 1965, Roy qualified for the special forces and was deployed to Vietnam. Roy was on a secret surveillance mission dressed as a Vietcong fighter when he stepped on a landmine. He was sent back to America and in hospital, he was told that he would never walk again.
