This is the horrifying moment a man was thrown into the air 100ft above the ground after he was electrocuted by a high voltage power line. The man had a miraculous escape after he was hit with more than 30,000 volts when he climbed the electricity pylon. Despite falling more than 100ft to the ground, he managed to walk away and appeared to be 'relatively' unscathed. Footage of the man after his dramatic fall shows him in shock and struggling to catch his breath, but conscious and with no broken bones. Months later, officials found their bleached bones and disturbing pictures. On April 1, 2014, Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon left their host family’s home to take the family’s dog on a walk through the scenic forests around the Baru volcano in Boquete, Panama. Kremers and Froon were students from Amersfoort in the Netherlands. They had spent six months planning their trip to Panama, which was supposed to serve as part vacation, part service trip. They planned on spending some time hiking and touring while also volunteering with local children, teaching arts and crafts, and learning Spanish. Lisanne Froon, left, and Kris Kremers, right. SUIC!DE OR MURDER? THE CURIOUS CASE OF RONALD OPUS On March 23, 1994 the medical examiner viewed the body of Ronald Opus and concluded that he died from a shotgun wound to the head. Mr. Opus had jumped from the top of a ten-story building intending to comm!t suic!de. He left a note to the effect indicating his despondency. As he fell past the ninth floor his life was interrupted by a shotgun blast passing through a window, which k!lled him instantly. Neither the shooter nor the deceased was aware that a safety net had been installed just below the eighth floor level to protect some building workers and that Ronald Opus would not have been able to complete his suicide the way he had planned. "Ordinarily," Dr Mills continued, "A person, who sets out to comm!t suic!de and ultimately succeeds, even though the mechanism might not be what he intended, is still defined as comm!tting suic!de." That Mr. Opus was shot on the way to certain death, but probably would not have b...

15 infamous last words from criminals on death row Here are some of the strangest last words before execution What words does a convicted criminal choose to be their last before they die? Would they ask for forgiveness or tell their family they’ll miss them? Most probably do. Others, however, have other things to say. Here are some of the strangest last words before execution: 1. Jimmy Glass, 1987 (Louisiana) oddee.com Last Words: “I’d Rather Be Fishing” On Christmas of 1982, 20 year-old Jimmy Glass and inmate Jimmy Wingo escaped from jail and shot an elderly couple to death while burglarizing their home. Both blamed each other for the crime and both ended up on the electric chair. 2. Jeffrey David Matthews, 2011 (Oklahoma) crime.about.com Last Words: “I think that governor’s phone is broke. A picture from the holocaust that my grandfather put in his scrapbook after returning from the war. Might be definitely NSFL. A picture from the holocaust that my grandfather put in his scrapbook after returning from the war. Might be NSFW. Pile of bodies unable to be cremated Nazi soldier forced to help bury the dead. A display of Nazi guards' "pastime" activities SS Being forced to assist in burials. studies show that WWIl extensively shrunken heads elsewhere, but I had never actually I've seen pictures of them until now. Truly monstrous what people have done and are capable of. Sometimes, when l read about/think about WWIl, it feels so long ago, so far away, but in reality, it was 66 years ago, not even one lifetime, a blink of the eye on earth. The fact that Hitler was alive just brief while ago, that men who fought on all sides of the conflict still walk the earth, sometimes feels surreal. Throw your mind back to 1945, the Soviet forces had just defeated the Na...

The Juanita mummy, also known as the Lady of Ampato or the Inca Ice Maiden, is one of the highlights of a visit to Arequipa. Some 500 years ago, a finely dressed and well-fed noble Incan girl around twelve to fourteen years old was sacrificed on the cold heights of Ampato Volcano in Arequipa, alongside other youths. The aim was probably to procure protection from the gods against future volcanic activity. Cold temperatures perfectly preserved their bodies, but the ice mummies were hidden from sight until the volcanic ash from the eruption of nearby Sabancaya volcano caused part of the glacier to melt. Much of the burial site likely fell into the crater when this happened, but Juanita and the other mummies were discovered around the crater in 1995 during an expedition directed by Johan Reinhard. In the vicinity, spondyllus, diverse Andean grains and plants, and several gold statues were also found. Enjoy Christmas 2023 with these promotions offers and its benefits. Special offer for ou...

Lawmakers stuffed a provision into the Pentagon funding bill that makes it all but impossible for Trump to leave NATO A brief provision in the massive $886 billion bill funding the Pentagon will likely kill former President Donald Trump or any potential future president's ambitions to withdraw the United States from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Sens. Tim Kaine, a Virginia Democrat, and Marco Rubio, a Florida Republican, teamed up to muscle their bill — which would require an act of Congress or Senate approval to leave NATO — into what is often deemed a must-pass bill that funds servicemembers and outlines national security priorities. President Joe Biden is expected to sign the legislation into law. The Senate passed the overall legislation 87 to 13. The House passed it on Friday on a 310-118 vote. "The Senate's vote today to pass my bipartisan bill to prevent any U.S. President from unilaterally withdrawing from NATO reaffirms U.S. support for this crucial alli...

Weddings gone wrong: An ancient Chinese custom takes a disturbing turn
Weddings gone wrong: An ancient Chinese custom takes a disturbing turn On November 18, a man armed with a sledgehammer was captured on video breaking down a door to a Shenzhen residence. But it wasn’t a robbery, because the people inside were expecting it. Those on the outside cheered with enthusiasm. By smashing the door, this man was participating in one of the many wedding hazing rituals practiced throughout China. It’s all part of a custom that’s spiraling wildly out of control. Known as “disturbing the bridal chamber” or “rowdy wedding” (闹婚 nàohūn), depending on whether it’s a verb or a noun, these raucous nuptial celebrations have recently received lots of news coverage, mostly due to the injuries involved. The Shenzhen sledgehammer incident turned the wedding into a bloody scene, as flying glass injured multiple bridesmaids inside the house. Last month in Shandong Province, a groom was knocked unconscious and suffered a concussion when his buddies slammed him into the...
