I earn £50 as a naked cleaner - my partner is okay with it but some of my clients have creepy requests A woman who works as a naked cleaner has revealed the weirdest parts of the job - including clients who are also naked. Lottie Rae, 32, took up the unusual role to make some extra money in 2017, and charges £50 an hour - estimating she's made a few thousand pounds over the years. The British cleaner says in the six years she's been working as a naked cleaner she's had a range of clients - including some who just want company, naturists, and others who 'hope for something more'. The cleaner, who describes herself as 'free-spirited' says the role has made her feel more body confident and even says it's empowering. Lottie said: 'There's a fair few people who are creepy - a handful of the guys I clean for book cleaners on the premise they will get something else. The cleaner, who describes herself as 'free-spirited' says the role has made he...

The Flying Pinto That Killed Its Inventor

The Flying Pinto That Killed Its Inventor This date in 1947 saw the first flight of THE CONVAIR MODEL 118 CONVAIRCAR (also known as the Hall Flying Automobile), a prototype flying car of which two were built. The flying car has been invented over and over again. The problem is, each iteration has fallen somewhere on the line between amusing failure and outright disaster. Perhaps the most infamous example was the AVE Mizar, a.k.a. the “Flying Pinto,” which killed its inventor on an early voyage. Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machine Henry Smolinski was born in 1933, one of eight children in a Polish American family living in Cuyahoga, Ohio. After attending the Northrop Institute of Technology's aeronautical engineering school, he began his career at North American Aviation as a structural engineer working on jet engine and aircraft design. In 1959, he joined Rocketdyne as a project engineer, working on their missile development and aerospace programs. After a decade at Rocke...

University of Michigan recover a Woolly Mammoth skull in a farmers field in Lima Township, Michigan A year after a farmer’s discovery, the University of Michigan will publicly display bones from a mammoth that lived more than 10,000 years ago. The exhibit opens Saturday at the university’s Museum of Natural History. Scientists aren’t done yet: They plan to return to a Washtenaw County farm for another dig in November. Jim Bristle, a farmer in Lima Township, discovered the bones while installing a drain pipe in his soybean field. He called the University of Michigan, and experts recovered roughly 40 percent of the mammoth’s skeletal mass, including a skull with teeth and tusks. The bones were just 10 feet below the surface. The mammoth may have been a hybrid, between a woolly mammoth and a Columbian mammoth. Enjoy Christmas 2023 with these promotions offers and its benefits. Special offer for our readers and it's free. American soldier killed by German snipers in Leipzig, 1945 War photographer Robert Capa took this iconic photo of an American soldier shot and killed by a German sniper in the battle for Leipzig on 18 April 1945. The soldier became known as the ‘last man to die’ in WWII after the image appeared in Life magazine’s Victory issue....  During the final days of the war, a platoon of machine gunners entered a Leipzig building looking for positions to set up covering fire points that would protect foot soldiers of the 2nd U.S. Infantry advancing across the bridge. Two members of the platoon found an open balcony that commanded on an unobstructed view of the bridge, set up their gun. For a while, one soldier fired the gun while the other fed it. Then one soldier went inside and the other manned the smoking gun alone. While absorbed in reloading it, a German sniper’s bullet from the street pierced his forehead. He crumpled to the floor, dead. War photographer Robert Capa climbed through a b...

KILLING ME SLOWLY: 7 OF THE LONGEST EXECUTIONS IN HISTORY Today, if you are unlucky enough to be sentenced to death, in many parts of the world you would have the small consolation that it would be (most of the time) swift – firing squad, electrocution, hanging, or lethal injection. For much of history, though, many people suffered protracted, agonising, drawn-out deaths. Some of these killings took hours, others days, and some even weeks. Here we look at seven of history’s most interminable terminations, with examples of extended executions, and stories of savagely spun-out slayings. Hang 'em High: 7 of history's most famous executioners 1. Brickin’ It - Immurement From the Vestal Virgins of Ancient Rome to 19th-century Persia (where criminals were known to have been bricked up alive into city walls  head downwards ) the ‘walling in’ of the condemned has a long history. The Vestal Virgins, immured in an underground chamber when breaking their vows, were given a small amount o...
