Captain Carlos Fortino Smano, gives one final smile to his firing squad before his execution. Mexico City. March 2, 1917. Mexican Revolution Carlos Fortino Sámano was a 1st rank captain (Capitán primero) of the Constitutional Army under Venustiano Carranza during the Mexican Revolution. He was accused of robbery with violence against an old lady, and after a military trial was sentenced to death in 1916 and finally was executed by a Federal firing squad on 2 March 1917. Before being executed, his last will was a glass of Chile chipotle liquor, which was conceded by his executors. He became a well-known figure because of the picture, taken by Agustín Víctor Casasola who captured him standing before his executioners, unblindfolded, calm, smoking a cigar. He was the theme of the book, by Virginie Lalucq and Jean-Luc Nancy, Fortino Sámano (The Overflowing of the Poem) and the Greek song "Fortino Samano" (Greek: Ο Φορτίνο Σαμάνο), found in the album Samano (Greek: Ο Σαμάνος) by T...

REMAINS UNEARTHED FROM ASHES AT POMPEII BELIEVED TO BE FROM MOUNT VESUVIUS BLAST Skeletal remains of what are believed to have been a rich man and his male slave attempting to escape death from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius nearly 2,000 years ago have been discovered in Pompeii, officials at the archaeological park in Italy said Saturday. Parts of the skulls and bones of the two men were found during excavation of the ruins from what was once an elegant villa with a panoramic view of the Mediterranean Sea on the outskirts of the ancient Roman city destroyed by the volcano eruption in 79 A.D. It’s the same area where a stable with the remains of three harnessed horses were excavated in 2017. Pompeii officials said the men apparently escaped the initial fall of ash from Mount Vesuvius then succumbed to a powerful volcanic blast that took place the next morning. The later blast “apparently invaded the area from many points, surrounding and burying the victims in ash,” Pompeii officials s...

A graphic image set illustrates the gruesome fates of two copper thieves in Dallas. It’s a good study in what electricity can do – if you are stupid. Downtown Dallas job over the weekend. They were trying to pull a hot 13,200 volt copper wire out of a conduit. Note the bolt cutter and the copper wire on the ground. It still stinks out here! How the hell can they not know that this sub-station was super hot? No problem – they won’t bother ones again! So if you are stupid enough to fuck with hot wire, you’re a fucking dumbass. I have no empathy for you. It looks like only one of the guys was doing it and then the other tried to grab his friend… DON’T DO THIS! IF SOMEONE IS GETTING ELECTROCUTED, DO NOT GRAB THEM-IF THEY ARE HUNG UP ON A STRAIGHT CONNECTION, HIT THEM WITH A STICK. YOU WILL GET HUNG UP WITH THEM IF YOU COME INTO CONTACT WITH THEM And for those of you (won’t mention any names) that I know that use a butter knife, saw-zaw blade, fork, or whatever to steal you...

THE MOST PAINFUL DEATH IN HISTORY 83 days waiting for death! On the 30th of September 1999, a Japanese laboratory technician named Hisashi Ouchi suffered the worst radiation burns in history after an accidental explosion of uranium solution. He was then kept alive against his will for three shocking months because doctors tried unsuccessfully to save him. As the radiation made its unstoppable way through Ouchi's body, his skin began to dissolve and his eyes began to bleed. Worse, however, was that the experimental treatments performed by the doctors had no effect. Ouchi cried out in despair and pain: "I can't take it anymore." I'm not a guinea pig. " But even though he begged to die, doctors kept him alive for 83 days at the pressure of his family. In one day, doctors resuscitated Ouchi three times within an hour after suffering three heart attacks. It was only when he suffered his final cardiac arrest due to multi-organ failure that his torture finally ended...

SHE SACRIFICED LOVE AND HE CAME BACK AND MARRIED FIVE MORE WIVES.. When World War II broke out David Oguntoye hid in a ship and travelled to Britain to volunteer for the Royal Air Force. The Last Days of the Dachau Concentration Camp
The Last Days of the Dachau Concentration Camp The historic winter of 1944-45 tested the endurance of the Dachau concentration camp’s captive population. News, much of it good, about the Allies’ recent triumphs —stopping Adolf Hitler’s Ardennes Offensive and the unleashing of the Red Army’s Vistula-Oder Offensive (mid-January 1945)—seeped in. As the weeks passed, confidence in Allied victory, while fragile, struck roots in Dachau. There were powerful reasons for inmates, though, to temper expectations. Despite the fragmentary knowledge of the state of the war they gained, there was much uncertainty about how long the Hitler regime might withstand the Allied advance. Due to its location in Bavaria, quite distant from the battle fronts, liberation would not happen anytime soon. Undoubtedly, the omnipresence of the SS guaranteed that attempted escape or rebellion would be met with extreme violence. Other factors besides the SS’s wanton cruelty incited new terror among Dachau’s prison...

A mummified dog has been found inside a tree trunk 20 years after it got wedged in while “chasing a raccoon”. The hunting dog, aptly named Stuckie, was discovered in a hollow stretch 28ft up by loggers chopping up the chestnut oak in Georgia, US, in 1980. …Instead of sending the tree off to the sawmill, the workers from Kraft Corporation donated it to Forest World – a tree museum in Waycross Georgia. Staff at the museum reckon the dog’s body mummified because an upward draft through the hollow tree created a chi...

Nearly 4,000 African Americans Were Lynched In One 73-Year Period between 1877 and 1950, 3,959 African Americans were lynched — 700 more incidents than had ever been calculated before, black lynchings in the South occurred when unsubstantiated suspicions arose about black involvement in white society, and when African Americans actively resisted racial subordination. In 1904, a man named General Lee was accused of knocking on a white woman's door in Reevesville, South Carolina. He was lynched by a white mob. When World War I veteran William Little refused to remove his army uniform in front of a group of white men in Blakely, Georgia, in 1919, he was also attacked and lynched by a mob.
