Naked Prowler Caught On Camera Lurking Around Bay Area Homes

In one incident, an 18-year-old girl woke up to spot a naked intruder masturbating by her bedroom door, police say.

Police in at least two East Bay cities are trying to identify and capture a man who has been lurking naked around homes late and night and during the wee hours of the morning. They hope that a new surveillance image of the suspect, which reveals a distinctive tattoo on his arm, will lead to his identification.

The cities of Fremont and Pleasanton have all reported sightings of the naked prowler who has been staring at residents, touching himself and even reportedly entering homes.

In one Fremont case, on June 25, two females noticed motion in their backyard from inside their Fremont home. The suspect was naked, touching himself and waving at them, police say. In another incident, on June 27, the suspect entered a home through an unlocked glass sliding door. An 18-year-old resident woke up to see the man completely naked, masturbating by her bedroom door, according to Fremont police. She screamed to wake up the other residents of her home and the man fled immediately.

On June 27, also in Fremont, the nude suspect approached two victims in a car and tried to speak to them. He reportedly fled in a car that has been described as a newer model white Cadillac SUV crossover 4-door similar to the XT5 or SRX, with dark tinted windows. Just one hour later, the man approached a female victim who was walking her dog. She ran away from the suspect who didn’t follow her, police say.

A resident’s security camera in Pleasanton captured an image of the suspect, which reveals

a distinct tattoo on the male’s upper right arm. Police are describing the tattoo as being a barbed wire or rose stem with thorns. One victim described the suspect as a white male, possibly mixed race with olive skin in his early 20's, about 5'5" - 5'6" and weighing approximately 160 lbs, according to police. He had dirty brown colored hair kept in a fade style haircut with possibly the numeral one cut on the side and numeral two cut on the top. He is described as athletic but not muscular and had a tattoo on his left arm at or just below his bicep.

A Fremont Police detective has also released a composite sketch of the suspect.
